Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, is a Nigerian rapper and hip-hop artiste breaking boundaries in the hip-hop world of Nigeria. He has carved a way of driving his hip-hop content to the ears of an average Nigerian. He beat the system that unknowingly states that hip-hop is washed up in Nigeria.
Emeka was born on the 29th day of January 1996. He started exploring his rap skills at the age of 13 and he won Terry Tha Rapman's Zombie competition at the age of 16. He got featured on Terry The Rapman's World Domination album and this kick-started his musical career. He went on to partake in other rap and music-related competitions. He won the Rhythm Freestyle Fury ad became RhythmFM artiste of the month, became the Hennessy VS Class captain, emerged the first runner-up of Vector's KingKong challenge. In that time frame, he released three mixtapes; 'Hiphop in Blaq,' 'Unfinished Ep' and 'CTAT: Cassette, Tapes, and TVs.'
In 2018, Blaqbonez released his most proclaimed body of work titled, 'Bad Boy Blaq' under the guidance of his new boss, MI Abaga, and the imprint, 100 Crowns headed by hip-hop powerhouse, AQ. It propelled the name, Blaqbonez into the ears of music fans and listeners. He released a re-up of the album in early 2019, remixing some of the songs on the album with assistance from A-list artistes like YCee and Vector.
Emeka's big break came through his controversial self-proclaimed status as the best rapper in Africa, which became and still is the most talked about topic in the Nigerian hip-hop scene.
