Kobelo Motha, popularly known by his stage name Kabza De Small is a South African DJ and record producer popular for the growth of the Amapiano genre.  His adept use of intricate melodies and polyrhythmic percussions has helped in carve a niche in the music industry of the world. He is often referred to as the ‘king of Amapiano.’

Kabza De Small was born on the 27^th of November 1992 in Mpumalanga, South Africa, but was raised in Pretoria. Kobelo began his career as a DJ in 2009, venturing in the Afro-house genre. He released his debut album, Avenue Sounds in 2016 under House Afrika Records. It was not until 2018 that he started gaining popularity and attention after he released Amabele Shaya and Umshove respectively.

In 2019 Kabza started to gain attention from fellow industry colleagues and he went on to work on a couple of projects with renowned South African DJ, Dj Maphorisa. They went on to release several albums like Scorpion King and Piano Hub together. Kabza released his sophomore solo album in 2019 titled, Pretty Girls Love Amapiano. His latest album is titled I Am The King of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust. The album was released on the 26^th of June 2020 and it gave him international success.

Kabza De Small is often referred to as the ‘King of Amapiano.’ He is considered as one of the best-selling music artists of amapiano, and also one of the pioneers of the genre. On 3 December 2019, Spotify SA, named Kabza as the most-streamed South African artist on the platform for 2019.

His big break came with the release of Amabele Shaya and Umshove respectively.
