Senzo Brikka Vilakazi popularly known as Kwesta is a South African rapper and songwriter. His unique delivery style, lyrics, and flow have helped him carve a niche in the music industry. He has been described as an ‘artistic genius’ as his love for poetry opened a career part in rapping for him. When he is not promoting his music, Kwesta is giving fellow celebrities like Mlindo The Vocalist, Sho Madjozi, and Trevor Noah shout-outs on his Instagram page.

Kwesta was born on the 11^th of August 1988 in Katlehong, Gauteng.  He described his childhood as a happy one and he actually had dreams of becoming a soccer star till his love for poetry crept in. Kwesta attended Phumulani Secondary School in Katlehong for three years, and later switched to Alafang High School. He developed an interest in poetry during his high school years and received positive feedback and encouragement from fellow students and teachers. Senzo turned his love for poetry into music. He would sing his poems over beats he created on FL Studio. He and his friends started a group called, Ghetto Fellaz in 2003. The group eventually changed their name to The Juvenylz. Kwesta dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue his music career full-time. He recorded his first demo in his home studio. This demo caught the attention of Africa's Most Southern Record Company (AMS) and they allowed him to use their recording facilities to record some music. The rapper eventually caught the attention of Buttabing Entertainment, a label owned by rapper Slikour and Shugasmakx.

Kwesta released his debut studio album, Special Rekwest, in September 2010. He describes holding the album in his hands for the first time as the highlight of his career. Some of the album’s singles include Stomp, Pump It, and Babhemi. Three years after the release of his debut album, Kwesta dropped DaKAR. In February 2016, he released his third and most successful album to date, DaKAR II. He became the best-selling hip-hop artist in South Africa’s history when the double-disc album was certified seven times platinum in 2018.  Kwesta has worked with Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Tweezy, Solo, Thabsie, and Nota.  He has also collaborated with American rappers, Rick Ross and Wale.
