Bowofoluwa Olufisayo Odunsi, popularly known as Odunsi The Engine is at the forefront of the Alte music scene because of his vast input into the Teezee coined movement. He started his musical career as a producer, creating sonically inclined sounds for the likes of Santi and later graduated to being a great artist, infusing pop, R&B, and afro-pop into his music.
Born and raised in Lagos Nigeria, Odunsi found solace in listening to artists like Sade Adu, Prince, King Sunny Ade, and Donell Jones. He started making beats by sneaking into his mom's room and dabble on the FL Studio crack that was gifted to him by the keyboardist at his church at the time. "I remember Santi had tweeted one day, that he was looking for alternative beats, and someone recommended me to him." Odunsi considered this a pivotal moment in his artistic journey. He went one to produce records like Steal A Dime and Gangsta Fear for Odunsi. He was featured on the latter, and he decided to take the mantra as an artist since then,
Odunsi released his first EP titled, Time Of Our Lives in August 2016. He started gaining real tractions after that tape and he went on to release a joint EP with Nonso Amadi titled War.
His breakout moment was the release of his 2017 hit single, Desire, which features Funbi and Tay Iwar.
Did you know Odunsi was kicked out of high school, he struggled with ADHD and he subsequently dropped out of university?
