Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, is a young, talented and vibrant Nigerian Artist. He found his way into the mass's ears by creating smooth sailing, groovy and hardcore sounds, using mostly melodies from the minor region. Some say he sounds like he is Indian, others say he sounds like Wizkid. Nonetheless, he has forged a new wave and created his own path in the music industry.
Rema started music at a tender age, singing and rapping in school and church. At 14, he had gained recognition in the church to be named "rap nation leader" and he started bringing up other young rappers like himself in the church. Rema also had his own live band with two of his friends but the difference in their interest later split them up. He lost his dad and brother at the age of 15 and was brought up by his widowed mom.
His musical career started when he posted a freestyle he did on D'Prince's Gucci Gang. The video later caught the attention of D'Prince and he brought him from Benin to Lagos. Mavin Records Later decided to join the Rema movement. Rema released his self titled EP in 2019 which birth his hit record, Dumebi. He subsequently released his other mixtapes, Rema Freestyle & Bad Commando.
His big break came with the release of his debut EP titled, Rema
