Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter and a sister to Nigerian prolific Afro-house artiste, Niniola. She is a surreal creative, carving out hit songs from creative Instagram freestyles and adapting it into a full song.
She was born on the 12th of December,1992 in Lagos, Nigeria. She is originally from Ilesa, a small town in Osun State, Nigerian. She attended Apata memorial high school (a school founded by her late father, Gen. Simeon Apata). She later went to Nothern America and got a degree in Business Administration from American InterContinental University.
Teni started her music career in 2016 when she signed with Magic Fingers Records, a record label owned by prolific producer, Shizzi. She released her first single, Amen under the label. She later moved to Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017, where she released her break-out singles, Fargin, Askamaya, Case, amongst others.
Teni has been nominated for various awards and has gone home with some notches like the 2018 Headies Rookie of the Year, 2018 Soundcity MVP Awards New Artist, amongst others.
Teni's big break came when she posted an adaptation of an Olisadebe soundtrack. She later released it as a single titled, Fargin.
