ThaCitiBoi, real name Abiodun Adesola Banjoko, is an independent multi talented rapper/singer/music producer and sound engineer who hails from Lagos, a commercial city in Nigeria. Although born in Mushin on June 2 1993, he lived a larger part of his early life in Ikorodu, both suburb areas of the city of Lagos. He attended Etunrere Primary School and United High Secondary School both in Ikorodu for both primary and secondary education. 

He discovered his love for music at an early age as a drummer and percussionist in a Celestial Church Parish in Ikorodu and later rose through the ranks as a backup and eventually the lead singer. However his love for secular and his eventual style of music Afro Hip Hop,  was inspired by "Anoti" by one of Nigeria's most succesful rappers MI. According to him, the local percussions in the beat and MI's delivery on the song really piqued his interest to create local rap sounds fused with African percusions and musical elements. He described Dagrin as one of the people who influenced his choice of art. 

In 2011, ThaCitiboi (a stage name he coined from his nickname " Abbey City '') was discovered by Antras, a popular Nigeria music producer at an audition in Ikorodu area of Lagos, a meeting he later describes as the turning point for his craft. His first single " Celebrate Me " was produced by Antrax and released in the same year. He discovered and developed his love for music production while working with Antras in the former's studio. That brought about the emergence of other brands known as "Beats From The Citi '' as producer and " Skuchies Mix '' as a mixing and mastering engineer. 

He started making beats professionally in 2015 and a year later was signed to Money Gang Record, a record label based in Lagos as an in house producer and in 2018 pitched a tent with MSN GANG, another  label owned by prominent Nigerian act Oritse Femi, also as a producer. As a producer, he has worked on diverse projects with several acts like Qdot, Zlatan, Oritse Femi, Barry Jay,  Idowest, Sina Rambo and B red among countless other acts. He looks forward to collaborations with Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Niniola, Tekno and also Beyonce, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar and other international acts.

As a recording artist, ThaCitiBoi has many monster hits to his credit like Olohun, Wafekusha, Cho Cho and many others and has collaborated with top artists like Qdot, Sina Rambo, BRed, Wale Turner, Bode Blaq amongst others. 

Thacitiboi, as an artist, producer and sound engineer, is famed for his fusion of indigenous African percussion, language and word play, carving a niche for himself as a true African who appreciates his roots and believes so much in the Afro genre of music.
